Design Bio
I have been working in the design field in some fashion since the age of 17. Whether it was freelance design for a few local companies, or working in area newspaper art departments, it seems a keyboard has always been beneath my fingertips. It's been more than 20 years since I've discovered design, and my education and career have taken many twists and turns regarding artistry and knowledge.
I began my studies in marketing before embracing my passion for art, which culminated in a bachelor's degree in fine arts. During this period, I had worked in - and fell in love with - the museum field. Tying art, education, and craftsmanship into exhibits was both fascinating and rewarding, leaving an indelible impression on me that has continued to influence my design work throughout my career. Since then, every project I have worked on has been treated as a blockbuster exhibit, beginning with careful research and ending with rich content and a strong visual appeal.
While I drifted away from marketing in college, I have sailed full circle back to it in my professional life. Working with a tight-knit marketing group has been a hands-on experience in learning how to determine what products will appeal to customers, and how to effectively communicate with clients about the benefits and value of these products. Whether it has been selling the corporation to establish strong customer relationships or introducing a concept or product to an established industry – marketing has had a constant presence in my field. The most rewarding aspect of marketing is feedback and interaction with audiences whom my work has touched.
Personal and professional growth is essential to a feeling of fulfillment. I'm on the lookout for opportunities to sharpen my skills in communicating ideas that educate and inspire others, whether it has been gaining a master's degree in psychology, or learning the latest technological tools of my trade. I also maintain a creative personal life by engaging in challenging projects such as creative writing and fine art.
